LOCAL EMPLOYMENT

As a part of our commitment to sustainable tourism Living Heritage Koslanda has strived to ensure that our employment practices benefit the local community, and over 90% of our staff have been employed from the local area, and specifically over a third of our staff are women, which in the Sri Lankan tourist industry is unusually high.  This may seem a small thing, but for a woman in the villages in Sri Lanka to be able to help financially support a family is a challenge. Thus with a growing number of  projects such as ours remote communities are able to find some financial independence and help their children gain a better education and future.
