What is the weather like?

Living Heritage Koslanda is located at an average elevation of 1,800ft, the climate is cooler & less humid than coastal areas and not as chilly as the higher hill country of Nuwara Eliya & Bandarawela. Pack for fresh mornings, warm days and slightly cooler evenings.

When is the best time to visit?

Come anytime! Koslanda’s climate is ideal all year round.
Even in monsoon it’s a magical place to be – during the heavy down pours curl up with a book, have a nap or watch the rain roll in over the hills.

Are children welcome at Living Heritage Koslanda?

Yes! Yes! Yes! Children are very welcome here – with 80 Acres of grounds the whole resort is a perfect playground.  Our Luxury Villa Suites will comfortably sleep a family of 4, and the rooms also interconnect if you need two or three rooms – we have activities for children, kids DVDs, lawn croquet, marshmallow roasting, the kids will love the infinity pool and we can prepare meals with kids tastes in mind.

Do you have driver’s accommodation?

Can we pay for our room on arrival?

We require an advance payment of 30% to secure your booking, the balance of which is to be paid 28 days prior to arrival. We accept all credit cards.

What should we wear?

Light cotton clothing is always best. Bring a pair of long, woven, cotton trousers for jungle trekking and two pairs of fine gauge socks.

A shawl or zip up for slightly cooler mornings and evenings may be required, trainers or walking shoes for exploring the jungle and some excursions are recommended and in the monsoon period a waterproof jacket is handy.

When visiting religious sites and temples it is important to cover your legs and arms and remove shoes when directed.

What kind of terrain is available for hiking?

The eastern hills offer a great variety of treks. Our team can recommend beautiful walks and treks for any level.

Can you arrange our transport for us?

Yes, we can arrange an airconditioned van to collect you from the airport or anywhere on the island as well as transfers to and from Haputale railway station and local exploring.
For a more scenic and speedier journey ask us about helicopter flights.

Can you cater for my special dietary needs?

Please let us know in advance if you have any dietary restrictions or allergies, and we can make sure the chef is aware in advance.

How many nights do we need to make the most of our stay?

Because of our off the beaten track destination we suggest staying for no fewer than 2 nights, so that you can really make the most of the surrounds. As we are located on an 80 Acre Estate there are plenty of opportunities for walking and exploring onsite, including a visit to our waterfall, as well as local excursions such as the tea estates and of course you need time to relax and enjoy our infinity pool or take a cooking class. Therefore a 3 night stay would be perfect.

We provide Teaeli artisan tea in all rooms, as well as fresh ground coffee with a French presse.
